A Much Travelled Cover

This interesting cover ended up where it started out, but not before traveling across
the Atlantic and back, picking up five machine
cancels from two different machine cancel manufacturers. Let us take a look at the
trip it took.

Mar 16, 1905 mailed from Decatur, Illinois (Barr-Fyke Type
D-105 machine cancel)

Mar 18, 1905 New York Foreign Station dial only
(International Type IMS-23 service marking)

Mar 27, 1905 Bruxelles Belgium marking, where the recipient
was not found and the cover was returned to sender

April 15, 1905 New York PAID ALL dial only (International
Type IMS-30 service marking)

April 16, 1905 New York Foreign Station dial only
(International Type IMS-23 service marking)

May 3, 1905 Dead Letter Office F.D. (Foreign Division) U.S.A.
handstamp at Washington DC, where the "Return to Writer"
pointing finger was also applied.

May 5, 1905 Decatur, Illinois (Barr-Fyke Type D-105 machine
cancel), and home again!
